eWeek: Equifax FraudIQ Suite Tackles Digital Fraud

Fraud Prevention

Equifax Fraud product manager, Daniel Jean, was recently published in eWeek discussing solutions that help detect and prevent identity fraud and account takeover. These digital fraud solutions incorporate good data and the latest analytic techniques to help businesses detect and deter fraud based on stolen or fabricated identities.

Among the technologies that the FraudIQ suite includes are verification tools that check to see if an individual element of an identity is correct. For example, they can check to see if the inputted name, address or Social Security number is in fact authentic.  The system then can make sure that the various pieces of identity information all match—for example, the given name is the one that is associated with a specific Social Security number or phone number.

Looking at flags such as user behavior or identity proxies like the device someone is using are also a part of understanding if the  user is legitimate or a fraud. Biometrics are another ingredient that the FraudIQ products use as an authentication check if necessary once any behind the scene or frictionless checks have been run. All of these options are available through comprehensive fraud prevention tools.
