E-Book for Employers: Tax-Related Identity Theft Prevention Guide

February 13, 2018 Insights Editor

As we live in an increasingly connected world, protecting personal information can become a tough task, even for the most tech-savvy people.  Identity thieves are actively looking for consumer’s personal and financial data, and they know a myriad of ways and loopholes to capture it. Fraudsters are becoming more advanced and going further than sending fraudulent emails and calling people to commit tax-related identity theft. They are also targeting organizations into turning over sensitive information of their employees.

In the rush for everyone to file taxes before the April 17th deadline, it’s a good reminder to stay alert and careful with guarding personal information against lurkers. An identity thief may use personal information to snag tax refunds right out from unsuspecting victims.  Although tax-related identity theft isn’t 100 percent avoidable, there are many actions employers and employees can take to help keep personal information out of the wrong hands.

Check out the new eBook for employers, Tax-Related Identity Theft Prevention Guide. This eBook is designed as an accessible guide to help employers create a culture of awareness through employee education.  This guide provides employers with an overview of tax-related identity theft, steps employers can take to help educate their employees, action steps individuals can make to thwart identity thieves, additional useful resources, and contact information.
