Unemployment hearings might not follow the rules of civil procedure, but they are still a state-run legal proceeding. The importance of proper unemployment hearing etiquette probably contains some things you wouldn’t even think of if you haven’t attended a good number of hearings. For example, what do you call the person who is running the hearing? If you know the claimant well, can you call him or her by name? And what do you do if the former employee’s testimony is not truthful?
